Fight Counts Tester: Privacy Policy
Effective: October 28, 2026
Fight Counts Tester is a test version of Fight Counts, a training app for Muay Thai and MMA. It times your rounds and films your bag work, and those videos help us teach the app to count strikes. This policy covers the tester app only.
Who we are
Fight Counts is made by Rodney Shafer (Autumn Nights LLC). Questions, or a request to delete your data: inautumnartcollective@gmail.com.
Who can use it
You must be 13 or older to use Fight Counts Tester.
What the app collects
For every session you film, a small session file:
- What you enter: your name or initials, your stance and your gym.
- Session details: the date and time of the session and your phone's time zone, your timer settings, when each bell and alert sounded, any pauses, whether you finished or quit, the app's color theme, and whether and when you gave consent, with the consent wording you saw.
- Recording details: when filming started and stopped, the video's resolution, frame rate, length and file size, any recording problems such as errors or camera interruptions, which camera you framed with and which one filmed, the frame rates your phone's cameras offer apps, and how you held the phone from when you pressed Ready.
- Technical details: your phone's make and model, its operating system and version, the app version and which update it's running, and a random ID that groups your sessions together. The ID says nothing about who you are.
Only when you tick the consent box for that session:
- The video and sound of your session, from when the first bell is about to ring to just after the last bell.
The app doesn't collect your location (only your time zone, above), contacts, photos or anything else on your phone. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
App updates
Each time you open the app, it asks Expo, the service we use to send app fixes, whether there's a newer version. The request includes a random ID for your copy of the app (not the same as the ID above), the app version and update, and whether your phone runs Android or iOS. Expo uses it to send the right update and to count how many phones have it. See Expo's privacy policy.
If you test on iPhone
iPhone testing goes through TestFlight, Apple's app for testing. Apple sends us crash reports, how you use the app, and any feedback or screenshots you send through TestFlight. If we invited you by email, these come with your name and email address; if you joined through a public link, they don't. See TestFlight & Privacy.
Where it goes
After a session, the app sends the session file to our private Google Drive storage, only over Wi-Fi, and the video too if you ticked the consent box. We copy the files from Google Drive to our own computers to work with them.
Your videos stay on your phone, whether you share them or not, until you delete them in Sessions. If you save a video to your phone's gallery, that copy is yours, like your other photos and videos. Your name, stance and gym also stay on your phone, so you don't have to type them again.
How we use it
Only to develop Fight Counts: mainly to teach and test the strike counter, and to fix problems in the app. We don't sell, rent or share your videos or details with anyone, and we don't use them for advertising.
Who can see it
Only the Fight Counts team. Google stores the files for us as part of Google Drive; see Google's privacy policy. Like any request over the internet, the app's requests reach Google and Expo with your phone's internet (IP) address. We never see it.
How long we keep it
As long as it's useful for developing Fight Counts, or until you ask us to delete it. Email inautumnartcollective@gmail.com and we'll delete your videos and details.
If you email us
We get your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to answer you.
Other people in your videos
Please don't film anyone else without their permission.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and tell testers.
